विद्या क्यों नष्ट हो गयी? | 18वीं कहानी | विक्रम-बैताल

उज्जैन नगरी में महासेन नाम का राजा राज करता था। उसके राज्य में वासुदेव शर्मा नाम का एक ब्राह्मण रहता था, जिसके गुणाकर नाम का बेटा था। गुणाकर बड़ा जुआरी था। वह अपने पिता का सारा धन जुए में हार गया। ब्राह्मण ने उसे घर से निकाल दिया। वह दूसरे नगर में पहुँचा। वहाँ उसे एक योगी मिला। उसे हैरान देखकर उसने कारण पूछा तो उसने सब बता दिया। योगी ने कहा, "लो, पहले कुछ खा लो।" गुणाकर ने जवाब दिया, "मैं ब्राह्मण का बेटा हूँ। आपकी भिक्षा कैसे खा सकता हूँ?"

Tenali Raman and the Brinjal Curry | Tenali Raman

This story is a one of the famous stories of Tenali Raman. Tenali Raman was one of the eight advisors of Sri Krishna Devaraya and he was very clever and spontaneous too.

The King had a big garden where he had special and very delicious brinjal. The Chef of the emperor prepares the curry from those brinjals and it was King's favorite too. As the brinjal was very rare and delicious, the garden was always under tight security and no one was allowed to view the plants without the emperor’s permission.

 काशी में प्रतापमुकुट नाम का राजा राज्य करता था। उसके वज्रमुकुट नाम का एक बेटा था। एक दिन राजकुमार दीवान के लड़के को साथ लेकर शिकार खेलने जंगल गया। घूमते-घूमते उन्हें तालाब मिला। उसके पानी में कमल खिले थे और हंस किलोल कर रहे थे। किनारों पर घने पेड़ थे, जिन पर पक्षी चहचहा रहे थे। दोनों मित्र वहाँ रुक गये और तालाब के पानी में हाथ-मुँह धोकर ऊपर महादेव के मन्दिर पर गये। घोड़ों को उन्होंने मन्दिर के बाहर बाँध दिया। 

बेचारी जूं और दुष्ट खटमल | पंचतंत्र

एक राजा के शयनकक्ष में मंदरीसर्पिणी नाम की जूं ने डेरा डाल रखा था। रोज रात मैं जब राजा सो जाते तब वह चुपके से बाहर निकलती और राजा का खून चूसकर फिर अपने स्थान पर जा छिपती।

संयोग से एक दिन अग्निमुख नाम का एक खटमल भी राजा के शयनकक्ष में आ पहुंचा। जूं ने जब उसे देखा तो उसे वहां से चले जाने को कहा। उसने अपने अधिकार-क्षेत्र में किसी अन्य का दखल सहन नहीं था।

लेकिन खटमल भी कम चतुर न था, वह बोलो, "देखो, मेहमान से इस तरह बर्ताव नहीं किया जाता, मैं आज रात तुम्हारा मेहमान हूं।"

The Little Mice and The Big Elephants | Panchatantra Story

There was a small village where lot of mice used to live in. Close to the village, there was a lake with fresh and tasty water.

One day a herd of elephants found out this lake and they really liked the water. From the next day onwards they used to come daily to drink the water. While on their way to the lake, every day the elephants were crossing the village where mice were living. As elephants are huge animals they couldn't see the mice on their way and killed many of the mice every day.

पूनम या दूज का चाँद | अकबर-बीरबल

बीरबल बहुत चतुर, बुद्धिमान और हाजिर जवाब थे, उनकी तारीफे दूर देशों तक फैली हुई थी। इरान के बादशाह ने जब उनकी बुद्धिमानी की तारीफ सुनी तो उसने राजा के पास संदेश भिजवाया की वह बीरबल को कुछ दिन के लिए मेरे दरबार में भेजने की कृपा करे। राजा ने बहुत कीमती वस्त्र आभूषणों की भेंट के साथ बीरबल और उनके सभा के कुछ अन्य दरबारियों को इरान के लिए रवाना किया।

चन्द्रशेखर नगर में रत्नदत्त नाम का एक सेठ रहता था। उसको एक लड़की थी। उसका नाम था उन्मादिनी। जब वह बड़ी हुई तो रत्नदत्त ने राजा के पास जाकर कहा कि आप चाहें तो उससे ब्याह कर लीजिए।

राजा ने तीन दासियों को लड़की को देख आने को कहा। उन्होंने उन्मादिनी को देखा तो उसके रुप पर मुग्ध हो गयीं, लेकिन उन्होंने यह सोचकर कि राजा उसके वश में हो जायेगा, आकर कह दिया कि वह तो कुलक्षिणी है, राजा ने सेठ से इन्कार कर दिया।

एक बार की बात है। बादशाह अकबर अपने दरबारियों के साथ सभा में बैठे हुए थे। आज कोई भी फरियादी नहीं था, इसलिए उन्होंने सोचा कि क्यों ना मैं दरबारियों से कोई प्रश्न पूछूं।

बादशाह अकबर ने दरबारियों से पूछा, "मैंने हमेशा देखा है कि जब भी हम किसी को कुछ देते हैं तो, देने वाले का हाथ, हमेशा लेने वाले हाथ के ऊपर होता है।"

Birbal’s Wisdom | Akbar Birbal

It was a beautiful afternoon in the court of Akbar Birbal. Suddenly Akbar realized that the diamond ring from his hand is missing. This was a gift to Akbar from his father.

Birbal arrived in the court soon. Akbar discussed with Birbal the same thing and asked him the solution to find his ring. After a quick careful thought, Birbal said, "Do not worry my lord! I will find your ring right now."

प्राचीन समय की बात है, एक छोटे से गाँव के मंदिर में देव शर्मा नाम का एक प्रतिष्ठित साधु रहता था। गाँव में सभी साधु का सम्मान करते थे। गांव के लोग उन्हें दान में वस्त्र, उपहार, खाद्य सामग्री और पैसे देते थे। धीरे-धीरे साधु के पास काफी धन इकट्ठा हो गया था। उस धन को वह एक बड़ी सी पोटली में बांधकर हमेशा अपने साथ रखते थे।

धन काफी बढ़ गया था, साधु को चिंता होने लगी थी। साधु कभी किसी पर विश्वास नहीं करते थे और हमेशा अपने धन की सुरक्षा के लिए चिंतित रहते थे। दूसरे गांव जाने से उन्हें डर लगता कि कहीं कोई उनकी पोटली चुरा ना ले।

Most Intelligent Cat | Tenali Raman

One fine day the ministers of King Krishnadevaraya were discussing the intelligence of animals. One of them said, "My cat is the most intelligent cat." Other one got up and said no mine is more intelligent. Soon the discussion heated up and the King had to intervene.

The king announced the competition for finding out who is the most intelligent cat. He said, "One week from now there will be a competition and the cat that does something which no other can do will be declared the winner".

All the stories usually start with a King and Queen but this one is different. This story is a very short story about a King and his pet monkey. 

The King used to love his monkey and even the monkey was very fond of him. The monkey was trained enough to do a lot of small chores for the king. The only thing bad about monkey was that he was foolish. Everything was going well and they both used to enjoy each other's company.

आज हम आप लोगों को तेनाली रमन की एक और प्रसिद्ध कहानी बताने जा रहे हैं। कहानी इस प्रकार है!

एक समय की बात है। तेनाली ने कहीं सुना था कि कोई दुष्ट आदमी साधु का भेष बनाकर लोगों को अपने जाल में फंसा लेता है। उन्हें प्रसाद में धतूरा खिला देता है। यह काम वह उनके शत्रुओं के कहने पर धन के लालच में करता है। धतूरा खाकर कोई तो मर जाता और कोई पागल हो जाता है। उन दिनों भी धतूरे के प्रभाव से एक व्यक्ति पागल होकर नगर कि सड़कों पर घूम रहा था। लेकिन धतूरा खिलाने वाले व्यक्ति के खिलाफ उसके पास कोई प्रमाण नहीं था। इसलिए वह खुले आम सीना तानकर चलता था। तेनालीराम ने सोचा कि ऐसे व्यक्ति को अवश्य दंड मिलना चाहिए।

It was a beautiful morning time on the day of summer. King Akbar and Birbal were taking a walk in the palace of gardens and were admiring the natural beauty. There were also a lot of crows in the garden. Watching the crows one question popped up in Akbar's head. He asked Birbal, "how many crows are there in our Kingdom ?"
