The Talkative Tortoise | Panchatantra Story

There was a beautiful lake where many animals were living together happily. In those animals, there were three friends, two Swans, and a very talkative tortoise. They used to play together and spend their days together. Tortoise used to tell a lot of things and talks all day with them.

It was all going well but during one of the summers, all animals started realizing that the lake is slowly drying up. Two swans and the tortoise were also worried. The Swans got a plan to escape from this problem.

They told tortoise that there is another lake with a lot of water in another forest. We just need to go there to spend our life happily. They thought we will help you in flying with us.

The Tortoise was surprised and confused as to how he can fly and go to a different forest with Swans.
The Swans got a strong stick and made tortoise bite it from the center. They told that we both will be flying with the stick and you have to hold the stick from the center. But the very important condition is that you do not have to open your mouth. Tortoise also agreed.

They started flying and it was all going well. In between the flight there were some other animals also flying and they started discussing about the new forest, how good it will be and so on. Listening to this Tortoise got excited and wanted to talk. He forgot the condition what Swans told him.

As soon as tortoise opened his mouth to talk, he felt down and got hurt. The Swans felt bad for him but couldn't do anything. The Talkative Tortoise realized his mistake that because of his talkative nature he got hurt very badly.

Moral:-
Dear Friends!! God has given us two ears and one mouth for one good reason. Talk less and listen more. We should be good in communication but talk only when required.
