There were Lion and his assistant Jackal in a forest. One day the Lion went on a fierce battle with the elephant and got injured badly. The Lion was injured so much that he couldn't even walk, hunting was out of the question for him.

As Lion was not hunting, Jackal also didn't eat for a few days. One day Jackal said to Lion, "O Master, I am not being able to serve you because I am too weak. I have not eaten for several days."

A long time back, there was a monkey who lived on a huge tree. The tree was special not because it was huge but because its fruits were the sweetest. The monkey was happy eating the fruits every day.

One day a crocodile came swimming near the tree. He was tired because he was swimming for a long time. He wanted to eat something. Seeing him hungry, the kind monkey felt bad. He said, " Hey Croco! You seem hungry. I will give you the most delicious fruits ever", tossing the fruits to the crocodile.

गौरैया और घमंडी हाथी | पंचतंत्र

बहुत समय पहले की बात है। एक खूबसूरत जंगल में बहुत से पशु-पक्षी रहते थे। उसी जंगल के एक बड़े से पेड़ पर गौरैया अपने पति के साथ रहती थी। गौरैया स्वभाव में अच्छी थी, उसका पति भी महंती था। उन दोनों ने अपना छोटा सा घोंसला बना रखा था, जिसमें गौरैया ने तीन अंडे भी दिए हुए थे। हर दिन उसका पति खाना ढूंढने के लिए बाहर जाता और गौरैया अपने अंडों की रक्षा करती। वह अंडे में से चूजों के निकलने का बेसब्री से इंतजार कर रही थी।

एक तालाब में एक कछुआ रहता था। उसी तालाब में दो हंस भी तैरने आया करते थे। हंस बहुत हंसमुख और मिलनसार स्वभाव के थे, इसलिए कछुए और हंस में दोस्ती होते देर नहीं लगी। कुछ ही दिनों में वे बहुत अच्छे दोस्त बन गएं। हंसों को कछुए का धीरे-धीरे चलना और उसका भोलापन बहुत अच्छा लगता था।

Two large fishes, Sahasrabuddhi and Satabuddhi lived in a big pond and were close friends with a frog called Ekabuddhi. They spent a lot of time together on the bank of the pond.

One evening, as they were assembled on the bank of the pond, they saw a few fishermen approaching. They had nets and big baskets with them, which were full of fishes that they had caught.

While passing by the pond, they noticed that the pond was full of fishes. One of them said to the others, "Let us come here tomorrow morning. This pond is not very deep and is full of fishes. We have never caught fishes in this pond."

चतुर खरगोश और शेर | पंचतंत्र

बहुत समय पहले, एक घने जंगल में एक बहुत बड़ा शेर रहता था। वह रोज शिकार पर निकलता और हर दिन जानवरों का शिकार करता। जंगल के जानवर डरने लगे कि अगर शेर इसी तरह शिकार करता रहा तो एक दिन ऐसा आयेगा कि जंगल में कोई भी जानवर नहीं बचेगा। पूरे जंगल में शेर का डर बैठ गया। शेर को रोकने के लिये कोई न कोई उपाय करना ज़रूरी था।

गौरैया चिड़िया और चार बंदर | पंचतंत्र

एक जंगल में एक पेड़ पर गौरैया का घोंसला था। एक दिन कड़ाके की ठंड पड़ रही थी। ठंड से कांपते हुए चार बंदरो ने उसी पेड़ के नीचे आश्रय लिया। वह चारों बंदर मूर्ख थे पर अपने आप को विद्वान समझते थे।

एक बंदर बोला "कहीं से आग तापने को मिले तो ठंड दूर हो सकती हैं।"
दूसरे बंदर ने सुझाया "देखो, यहां कितनी सूखी पत्तियां गिरी पड़ी हैं। इन्हें इकट्ठा कर हम ढेर लगाते हैं और फिर उसे सुलगाने का उपाय सोचते हैं।"

बेचारी जूं और दुष्ट खटमल | पंचतंत्र

एक राजा के शयनकक्ष में मंदरीसर्पिणी नाम की जूं ने डेरा डाल रखा था। रोज रात मैं जब राजा सो जाते तब वह चुपके से बाहर निकलती और राजा का खून चूसकर फिर अपने स्थान पर जा छिपती।

संयोग से एक दिन अग्निमुख नाम का एक खटमल भी राजा के शयनकक्ष में आ पहुंचा। जूं ने जब उसे देखा तो उसे वहां से चले जाने को कहा। उसने अपने अधिकार-क्षेत्र में किसी अन्य का दखल सहन नहीं था।

लेकिन खटमल भी कम चतुर न था, वह बोलो, "देखो, मेहमान से इस तरह बर्ताव नहीं किया जाता, मैं आज रात तुम्हारा मेहमान हूं।"

The Little Mice and The Big Elephants | Panchatantra Story

There was a small village where lot of mice used to live in. Close to the village, there was a lake with fresh and tasty water.

One day a herd of elephants found out this lake and they really liked the water. From the next day onwards they used to come daily to drink the water.
