Today's short motivational story,The Jackal and the Drum, is from the collection of Panchatantra's stories.
The story starts with a hungry Jackal whose name was Gomaya. He was wandering in search of food in a jungle. He kept wandering but he didn't get anything.
After some time he crossed the Jungle and reached out to the deserted battlefield. In this deserted battlefield, a battle was fought recently. The fighting armies had left behind a drum, which was lying near a tree.
As strong winds blew, the branches of the tree got rubbed against the drum. This made a strange noise.
When the jackal heard this sound, he got very frightened and thought of running away, "If I cannot flee from here before I am seen by the person making all this noise, I will be in trouble".
But just before he was about to run away, he thought again."Should I run away? But why I only heard the sound, I don't know what is the source of this noise. I should first see and then only decide"
He took the courage to creep forward cautiously. When he saw the drum, he realized that it was only the wind that was causing all the noise. He realized that we should not fear the unknown and face it with courage in life.
He continued his search for food, and near the drum, he finally found sufficient food and water.
Moral -
Dear Friends!!
"Bravery is not the absence of fear, but it is knowing that even with the unknown I am going for it. Just like the jackal faced his fears and he got rewarded, try to be brave in life and give a second thought before quitting or walking away from your fears."
"Bravery is not the absence of fear, but it is knowing that even with the unknown I am going for it. Just like the jackal faced his fears and he got rewarded, try to be brave in life and give a second thought before quitting or walking away from your fears."
Thank you!!
