The Bird with Two Heads | Panchatantra Story

This story is about a strange bird. The bird was not like the others. He had two heads but only one stomach. One nice day the bird was flying high in the sky, he saw an apple shaped fruit on the bank of the river. He quickly went down and picked up the fruit. The first head was eating the fruit and had no intention of sharing with the other as the fruit was one of the most delicious the bird had ever eaten.
The second head protested, "I am also your brother. Why don't you share this yummy fruit with me too?"

The first head of the bird replied in anger, "Shut up. You know that we've only one stomach. Whichever head eats, the fruit will go to the same stomach. So it doesn't matter as to which head eats it. Moreover, I'm the one who found this fruit. So I have the first right to eat it."

The second head felt very bad on the selfishness behavior of the first one. He decided to take revenge for this. Another day while they were flying, the second hear spotted a tree which was looking delicious but it was poisonous. The bird flew down and immediately plucked a fruit from it.

"Please don't eat this poisonous fruit," cried the first head. "If you eat it, both of us will die, because we have a common stomach to digest it."

The second head was in revenge mode. He was not in his control."Shut up!" he shouted. "Since I've plucked this fruit, I've every right to eat it."

The first head tried a lot to stop, but the other head didn't care. He wanted to take revenge. He ate the poisonous fruit. As a result, both of them died.

Moral:-
