This story also starts as other stories of Vikram Betal. Betal lying on Vikram's solder started narrating the story.

There was a village of Kishannagar where King Rajendra and his queen Prema were living. They had a baby girl after many years of their marriage, which they named Sona. The king was a very noble and kind man.

Sona was given all the love by her parents, as she was the only child. She had the freedom to do everything. However, in spite of her freedom, she was sharp in studies and proficient at the bow and arrow & with the sword. The days went like this and she reached the age where the King and Queen wanted her to get married. Sona being independent and free said, "She will only marry the man who is more skilled than me and will defeat me in a bow arrow and sword competition."

The competition started and many skilled suitors came and tried to defeat the queen. Although they thought it is easy but no the queen won all the fights very easily.

Among the crowd was a young charming man named Uday. He observed Sona every day while fighting and soon learned all techniques of her fights. He then asked the King to fight Sona. They had a good fight but Uday won finally because of the tricks he learned.

The King was very happy and asked Uday how he learned such good fighting techniques. Uday told all the story on how he watched Sona every day while fighting.

Sona immediately replied, ‘You have defeated me, but I cannot marry you.’ To which Uday replied, ‘Yes, you should not marry me.’ The King and the queen were surprised at their decision.

‘Oh Vikram, now you tell me, why did she say that Uday cannot marry her even after he defeated her? If you do not speak even if you know the answer, you are not a king of Justice’, said Betal.

Vikram replied, ‘Uday had learned all the strategies by observing Sona fight. This makes Sona a guru or Uday’s teacher. In Hindu culture, a teacher cannot marry a student. Sona realized that Uday was first her student and then a suitor. Uday also thought in the same manner and thus decided not to marry Sona.’

So Vikram had broken his silence with the reply and Betal flew back to the old tree while Vikram once again ran behind him with his sword.
