Today's story is one of the popular stories of Akbar Birbal Collection. It all starts when a rich merchant is robbed. His all jewels and cash money is gone. Merchant had a lot of servants at home and his suspicion was on one of them.

Birbal decided to start the investigation from the merchant's home. Once Birbal arrived at the home,
he assembled all of the merchant's servants and asked them to stand in a line. He asked everyone on who stole the money but no one said yes. Everybody denied.

With careful thought, Birbal gave a stick of equal length to all the servants and told them that the real thief will be caught tomorrow. As only the real thief's stick will be longer by two inches by tomorrow. Thus all the servants have to be present again tomorrow here with their sticks.

All the servants went to their homes and gathered again at the same place the next day. Birbal asked them to show him their sticks. After seeing all the servants' sticks he picked one of them and said to the merchant, 'This is your thief".

Later the merchant asked Birbal, “How did you catch him?” Birbal said, "I lied to all the servants that their stick will get longer if they have done the robbery. Because of this fear the thief cut his stick by two inches to not get caught. Instead, I found him because he is the only one whose stick is shorter
today."

The merchant was happy again and gave a big thanks to Akbar and Birbal.

Moral:-
Dear Friends!!
It is an old proverb, "A guilty conscience needs no accuser". The guilty person will always have the fear at his heart and that fear will get him caught at the end. The truth will come out eventually and the guilty will be punished.
