Bring Me The Worst Four Fools Of The Town | Akbar-Birbal

This is a famous story from Akbar Birbal Collections - The Four Fools with a moral.

One day the emperor Akbar thought of something and asked Birbal to bring him, world's worst four fools. The Birbal without saying anything started searching for the fools from the next day morning.

One the day he saw a Brahmin. The Brahmin was running very fast carrying a plate of betel-nut, rice, and a few other things. When Birbal inquired with him, he answered, "My wife has just given birth to a son, and I am bringing her the ceremonial foods. Unfortunately, the boy is not my child, but his father will also be there."

So, I am going to bless the new father and mother, and the baby. That is why I am running. Birbal smiled and thought "I have got my first fool," and he took the Brahmin to come to the court with him.

One the way, they saw a man sitting on a horse. The man was carrying a very heavy load on his shoulders. Birbal asked him. "Why are you carrying that load on your shoulders?" The man replied, "My horse is a mare, and she is pregnant. I do not want to hurt this poor animal by making her carry such a heavy burden, so I have put the load on my own shoulders."

Birbal said, “If you are sitting on the horse, the weight will be the same whether it is on your shoulders or on the back of the horse.” But the man insisted that he was taking half the burden on his own shoulders.

“Here is another fool,” Birbal said to himself and commanded the man to come along to the Emperor. “Your Majesty,” proclaimed the Minister when they came before Akbar, “here are your fools.”

Akbar didn't understand. He said, "I asked you to bring me four fools, where are the other two?"

All the fools are here in the court. The two fools are right in front of you as you can see.

"The third fool is you, Your Majesty. I am sorry to say but a fool only can give an order to find fools. A wise Emperor would like to know whether there are wise men in his Empire. And I am the fourth fool. I should have given you good advice and stop you from executing such a foolish order but instead, I followed your order and searched for other fools."

King Akbar realized his mistake and the whole court laughed out on this along with King Akbar and Birbal.

Moral -
Dear Friends!!
"A foolish person will follow a foolish order. Don't just follow, think whether the work or order you are doing is giving any value in your life or not."
