बहुत साल पहले अयोध्या नगरी में वीरकेतु नाम का एक राजा राज करता था। उसी राज्य में एक साहूकार भी रहता था। धनी साहूकार का नाम था रत्नदत्त। उसकी एक ही सुंदर सी बेटी थी रत्नावती। रत्नावती के लिए कई रिश्ते आए, लेकिन उसने किसी से भी शादी करने के लिए हां नहीं की। इस वजह से उसके पिता काफी परेशान थे। रत्नावती को सिर्फ सुंदर और धनवान नहीं बल्कि बुद्धिमान और बलवान वर चाहिए था।

कैसे ढूंढा बीरबल ने अंगूठी के चोर को? | अकबर-बीरबल

एक दिन भरे दरबार में राजा अकबर की अंगूठी खो गई। जैसे ही राजा को यह बात पता चली उन्होंने सिपाहियों से ढूँढने को कहा पर उन्हें उनकी अंगूठी नहीं मिली।

राजा अकबर नें बीरबल को दुखी मन से बताया कि वह अंगूठी उनके पिता की अमानत थी, जिससे वह बहुत ही प्यार करते थे। बीरबल नें जवाब में कहा - "आप चिंता ना करें महाराज, मैं अंगूठी ढून्ढ लूँगा।"

बनारस में देवस्वामी नाम का एक ब्राह्मण रहता था। उसका हरिदास नाम का पुत्र था। हरिदास की बड़ी सुन्दर पत्नी थी। नाम था लावण्यवती। एक दिन वे महल के ऊपर छत पर सो रहे थे कि आधी रात के समय एक गंधर्व-कुमार आकाश में घूमता हुआ उधर से निकला। वह लावण्यवती के रूप पर मुग्ध होकर उसे उड़ाकर ले गया। जागने पर हरिदास ने देखा कि उसकी पत्नी नही है, तो उसे बड़ा दुख हुआ और वह मरने के लिए तैयार हो गया। लोगों के समझाने पर वह मान तो गया; लेकिन यह सोचकर कि तीरथ करने से शायद पाप दूर हो जाये
और पत्नी मिल जाये, वह घर से निकल पड़ा।

The King thought that he will hide inside the cave and as soon as the cave owner will come, he will eat him.

The Hunter had laid a net with rice spread all over it. He knew that the pigeons would definitely come to eat the rice and he can catch them easily. Shortly, a flock of pigeons comes by and start eating the rice and get caught in the net.

Raman’s cure for hunchback | Tenali Raman

This story is about the time when Tenali Raman was still trying to impress the King.

The King had ordered the guards to execute Tenali. The King told, "He seems to be too clever. Do one thing. Bury him neck deep in the soil so that he cannot move. Then have him crushed by an elephant.”

The guards took Tenali to a far place outside the city. One of the guards dug a deep pit while other was watching Tenali. They both then pushed Tenali into the pit and soon only Tenali's head was visible above the ground.
